The South West regional anaesthesia course is a well established course with experienced faculty.

This course is aimed at anaesthetists in training (principally ST2 and above level), although it is also suitable for Consultants/career grade staff who wish to expand their knowledge of regional anaesthesia.

The teaching will be delivered using a mixture of formal lectures covering key core topics, small group workshops (max 10/grp) including plenty of hands on scanning practice, and video demonstrations of blocks.

Over the 2 days we will attempt to cover all the major upper and lower limb peripheral nerve blocks, as well as abdominal and basic neuroaxial blocks. We will predominantly focus on ultrasound guided techniques. We will also cover relevant anatomy and pharmacolgy ,equipment, conduct of anaesthesia, and complications.
